Thakeham School Children Support Woodland Trust Project

A project to plant 4,000 trees in Storrington have Thakeham Primary School children giving it a big thumbs up. So much so that the children in the young reporters group have helped with some of the planting! The project was created by Tesla Engineering, who are working with The Woodland Trust to achieve incredible goal of planting all of those saplings on adjacent land. This Monday, the children (and headteacher Mrs Norton) headed over to the Tesla factory and helped assist by each planting a tree, followed by a tour of the factory.

'Truthfully some of the children found the mud and puddles more exciting. They are looking forward to coming back to see how the trees grow. The council and Tesla also hope to get WSCC to re-route an existing footpath so that the new woodland can be better enjoyed by everyone in the community.' - Caroline Instance
